  • Inclement Weather Notes

    1. In general, during the week, if school is cancelled OR if school is cancelled during the course of the day because of bad weather, our youth activities will also be cancelled.

    2. Choir members are usually given ample notice if any choir rehearsals are cancelled.

    3. Board meetings, worship services, or other activities may not be cancelled, and it’s best to call the church or a contact person for the event to be sure.

    4. Last year, on the Sunday we cancelled worship services, we were in touch with Dean at 5:30 a.m. and determined that it would be impossible to park in the church parking lot even if someone would have been able to get to the church parking lot. Immediately thereafter, I contacted other staff members and all the TV stations: channels 11, 2, and 5 published the cancellation notice. Future Sunday morning blizzards will be handled in much the same way. If you have any questions or suggestions for improving these plans, please let us know!

  • Young at Heart Lunch

Join us on February 10 for the next Young at Heart. Our speaker will be Connie Greenawald, Director of CASA. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. It is a non-profit organization staffed by volunteers who are appointed by the court to “serve as the voice of neglected and abused children in the courtroom”. Sometimes these volunteers are the only consistent adult in a child’s life. Bob Leonowicz has volunteered to make booyah for lunch. We will also be having the good hot dogs and homemade bars. If you are able, please bring a non-perishable food item for our food pantry. The sign up sheet is on the courtesy desk or call the Church Office.
